Meet Your Doula

My name is Kara, I have been married to my husband Eddie for 14 years and we have 7 beautiful children.  Originally, we are from central West Virginia, then lived in Pennsylvania where I was born for a few years and have spent a year in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I have had the pleasure of helping some clients during my time in Arkansas where I first started my business. Now my family and I have relocated to Altoona, PA and I am continuing my practice to help serve Blair County, PA and surrounding areas.

I have been passionate about motherhood since I was 11 years old. I had my first 3 children in a hospital setting, all very different experiences. Each situation had me researching all I could learn about natal care. Especially when I decided to have my first home birth. It was the best birthing experience of my life! I believe this was because I was surrounded by educated women who cared about me and my baby, and these woman did what they could to make sure I had a wonderful experience. 

I knew right then and there that I wanted to be one of those women! I grew a passion to help others have beautiful birth experiences. So, I began my Doula training and became a certified birth and postpartum Doula through Madriella Doula Network. It's been an amazing experience, providing services in the northeast Arkansas area and I hope to continue this amazing journey helping Women in Central PA. I have also recently started working with Doulas of Central PA and truly love working with all of the amazing woman involved.
